Box Cricket Birthday Party: Event Procedure

Package: 3-Hour Ultimate Cricket Blast

Age Group: 7 and above

Staff: 1 Event Host, 1 Cricket Coach

PHASE 1: Pre-Event Setup (60 Minutes Before Start)

  • 1.1. Venue & Cricket Setup

    • Set up the box cricket net safely

    • Place batting crease markers, boundary cones, and scoreboard.

    • Prepare cricket equipment: bats, tennis/soft balls, stumps.

  • 1.2. Party Zone Setup

    • Decorate party table with cricket-themed decor (mini bats, ball centerpieces), if any

    • Set up table and chairs in the conference room. Ensure to always use disposable table covers

    • Test music system—prepare upbeat playlist and cricket commentary snippets for fun

  • 1.3. Safety & Admin Check

    • Verify first-aid kit is accessible and ice packs available.

    • Brief on safe play rules and emergency exits.

    • Confirm booking sheet with birthday child’s name and parent contact.

PHASE 2: Arrival & Warm-Up (First 30 Minutes)

  • 2.1. Check-In & Kits

    • Greet guests; have parents sign waivers if required.

    • Direct kids to the “Warm-Up Zone” for casual catching or batting drills.

  • 2.2. Welcome & Team Formation

    • Host gathers everyone, welcomes them, and introduces the Coach.

    • Coach divides kids into two teams (e.g., Team Blues vs. Team Reds), assigns captains.

    • Quick explanation of “Box Cricket Rules”: overs per player, no hard balls, fair play emphasis.

PHASE 3: Cricket Session (Core 90 Minutes)

  • 3.1 Passing the ball game (15-20 mins play)

    • Make 2 teams, ball will be with one team and they start passing the ball. After 5 to 7 passes(fix any number), they have to strike the target (Wickets).

    • Each pass has to be a clean pass without dropping the ball. If the ball is dropped the ball goes to the opponent team. 

    • Reverse pass not allowed(you cannot pass the ball to the player who passed it you)

  • 3.2. Game Times(60 mins)

    • Divide into 2 groups of 5/6, 10 overs per side, everyone bowls 1 over and bats in pairs.

    • Host updates scoreboard, plays energetic music between overs.

    • Coach umpires and ensures rotation so all kids participate.

  • Players wash hands and move to party zone.

  • Serve snacks and drinks (pre-arranged with parents). Keep food away from nets.

PHASE 4: Celebration & Wrap-Up (Final 60 Minutes)

  • 4.1. Awards & Cake Ceremony

    • Gather everyone and direct them to the conference room

    • Birthday cake moment—sing “Happy Birthday,” serve cake.


  • 4.2. Party Favors & Farewell

    • Distribute favor bags (could include mini cricket bat keychains, wristbands, sweets).

    • Group photo with cricket props (stumps, bats).

    • Thank you announcement; assist with gift carry-out.

PHASE 5: Post-Event Pack-down

  • 5.1. Equipment & Clean-up

    • Safely pack all cricket gear; check for damage or loss.

    • Clear trash, wipe tables, dismantle nets if required.

    • Return any lost property to parents.

  • 5.2. Debrief & Notes

    • Quick staff debrief: any injuries, issues with equipment, feedback from parents?

    • Note inventory used (balls, favors) for restocking.
